Warner Bros. Developing Movie Based on LEGO's 'Ninjago' Toy Line

It sounds like Warner Bros. is really excited with the reception of The LEGO Movie trailer (watch it here), because they're sticking with the building block brand for another venture. Heat Vision has word that Warner Bros. has hired Dan and Kevin Hageman, who have a story credit on the aforementioned animated film from Phil Lord and Chris Miller, to script an adaptation of LEGO's Ninjago toy line, set in a world inspired by Chinese and Japanese myths, culture and warriors, complete with a storyline involving ninjas, dragons and more. So why is this toy line special enough to be singled out over the other LEGO sets?

Well, Ninjago already has a Cartoon Network animated series called "Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu," which was also written by the Hageman brothers. The series follows Kai, the red ninja of fire and his adventures in the world of Ninjago. However, the film will go in a new direction from the TV series, and expand into the LEGO world even more. The toy line has evolved over the years from the previous ninja line, and turned into one of their most popular brands with young boys. This marks the second LEGO line to begin the journey to the big screen with Universal developing a Hero Factory movie as well. Thoughts?

Hey Warner Bros, this may sound like a crazy radical idea but how about developing a um Justice League film and also bringing some more DC heroes to the screen. Yes WB there is more heroes outside Batman and Superman you guys must have been suprised to hear that. First theatrical movie both Batman and Superman will appear in by WB and it's a Lego movie. What an embarrassment.

Kids love Ninjago. This will kill. DC Superheroes are on about a fifty-fifty hit to miss ratio. Ninjago is a sure thing.

My kids screamed when I told them about this, it's going to make a ton of money.

The show is fun it's basically what Power Rangers always had the potential to be! This is good news I hope they make it worth while!

I think making a movie for Ninjago will do incredibly good, and I'm really excited for it. I'm not a young boy, but Rather an older girl, and I love Ninjago. Speaking for the rest of the Ninjago fans, I have plenty of friends who love Ninjago and are of both genders, and are far older than just a few 7 year olds. All of us are excited about the upcoming film adaptation. Having Ninjago become a movie will probably be the coolest thing that will happen to me in a long time, and I honestly can't wait for it. Ninjago already has such a cool concept, well developed characters, and humor plus wonderful plot line—I have no doubt that it won't do well in theatres.
