"This thing has latched itself to your family" After the first creepy teaser trailer for James Wan's horror The Conjuring, which almost felt like a short film in itself, the full theatrical trailer is here, and we're finally introduced to Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as seekers of the supernatural. The two ghost hunters venture to the house of Lily Taylor and Ron Livingston as their family is being terrorized by aggressive spirits. This looks like a really special horror film with flares of a variety of horror films from Poltergeist to Paranormal Activity and more. James Wan may have another horror hit right here. Watch!
Here's the full trailer for James Wan's The Conjuring from the film's Facebook page:
efore there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives. James Wan (Saw, Insidious) directs from a script by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor and Joey King star in the film which Warner Bros. sends to theaters on July 19th, 2013. Spooky?

That was creepy, but I am so sick of trailers giving everything away, Im not saying it showed the whole movie. But we know what the ghost w/e looks like and Id go as far to say that a lot of the jump scares were just spoiled. Whatever happened to going into a movie with a hint of mystery, not knowing what to expect?

I'm more sick of every single horror movie saying it's "based on a true story". Some religious family lied to their neighbors about forgetting to turn off the lights and hearing noises and now they're famous for it.

I saw this bad boy at an early screening. There's plenty left in the film that the trailer doesn't show, and it's scary as hell. Very fun movie!

Mr Wan is the only one who keeps the horror genre up...

I don't know how many will agree with me but: It seems where 'Insidious' was a frightful horror that suddenly turned into a fantasy-horror... in this movie it looks like he's setting the tone for 'adventure horror' and trying to keep that pace up as opposed to the sudden turn in 'Insidious'.

Looks good, even though it reminds me alot of last years horror movie called "When the Lights went out", which is another film based on a true story in the 70's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYKz11JtD0A
