Watch: Another Trippy Trailer for Ben Wheatley's 'A Field in England'
They're over here Devil! What the… this looks totally frickin' crazy! I can't wait to see this. Another very, very trippy trailer has debuted for A Field in England, the new film from Ben Wheatley (Down Terrace, Kill List, Sightseers), a B&W wacky period piece about a group of English Civil War soldiers from the 17th century who end up on mushrooms. We've featured one actual straightforward trailer for this so far, but this is something else, and I love it. The whole thing has a weird but entrancing old school, vintage horror vibe to it, and I think that's what Wheatley is going for. I'm sure this is already destined to be a cult classic. Enjoy!
A Field in England is directed by Ben Wheatley from a screenplay co-written by Wheatley and Amy Jump. The story follows a small group of deserters fleeing from a raging battle through an overgrown field. As they are captured by O'Neil, an alchemist, they are forced to aid him in finding a hidden treasure he believes is buried in the field. Crossing a vast mushroom circle, which provides their first meal, the group descends into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia as it becomes clear the treasure might not simply be gold. The film opens in the UK starting July 5th and the United States later this year. First trailer here. You in?
I like. I like.

Reminds me a little bit of Guy Maddin, which is not a bad thing. But I'm pretty sure the film itself will be different than this trailer. It looks intriguing nonetheless!
