Watch: Carrey & Carrell in 'Incredible Burt Wonderstone' UK Trailer

January 30, 2013

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Well, this is disappointing. After the first lackluster trailer for the magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone debuted just before Christmas, this comedy didn't look like the laugh riot we wanted from stars Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. Therefore, we hoped that this new UK trailer might offer a new angle and show a better side of the film. Sadly, it's got a lot of the same jokes with some new mediocre ones. At least Carrey and Carrell seem to be having fun, and Alan Arkin should add to that enjoyment, but this still looks like a dud. Hopefully they're just saving all the good jokes for the film itself. Watch the trailer below!

Here's the new UK trailer Don Scardino's The Incredible Burt Wonderstone from YouTube:

After breaking up with his longtime stage partner, a famous but jaded Las Vegas magician named Burt Wonderstone (Carell) fights for relevance when a new, hip street magician (Carrey) appears on the scene.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone is directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Don Scardino, of mostly TV work previously including "30 Rock", "Big Lake", "Law & Order", "Hope & Faith" and "Cosby". The original screenplay was co-written by John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein (both of the Horrible Bosses script, and the upcoming Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers) from a story by Daley, Goldstein and Chad Kultgen. Warner Bros produced and is releasing Burt Wonderstone in theaters starting March 15th, 2013.

There are bad comedies, and then there are bad comedies that still make you chuckle when the jokes are delivered with good nature and enthusiasm. I'll probably check this out on a lazy afternoon.
