If you weren't aware, Digital Domain is the name of a digital production company that specializes in innovative digital imagery and effects for feature films, advertising and games. Even if you haven't heard of the company, you can be damn sure you've seen their work in films ranging from Titanic to Iron Man 3 with films like Armageddon, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Tron Legacy and Real Steel in between. Now the company has just released a new company reel with their work in clips from some of these films, not to mention their recent work on Ender's Game.
Here's Digital Domain's new sizzle reel, originally from the company's website:
You'll also see snippets of their work in commercials, video games and more, but the real star here is obviously all their feature film work. You probably also noticed shots from Oblivion and G.I. Joe: Retaliation from earlier this year as well. They've also done work in films that don't seem so special effects heavy like Gran Torino, Zodiac and Rock of Ages (mostly involving digital set extension and subtle effects like that). Ender's Game is their biggest forthcoming effort, but they'll likely be working on plenty of other blockbusters to come, maybe even Star Wars: Episode VII or The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Cool?

Visual effects techniques have evolved (not always for the better), but storytelling skills in movies have definitely worsened.
