"You'll never see me coming." Damn! Marvel has unveiled a fun extended TV spot for Shane Black's Iron Man 3 along with the 30-seconds of footage that originally aired during the Super Bowl today. First things first, that airplane rescue scene is intense! That's something that belongs in a Chris Nolan movie, which is what makes it so awesome/impressive that Shane Black is doing this in Iron Man 3. There's also more shots of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Guy Pearce plus Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin. A slightly extended version of the spot on TV also debuted on Facebook, and is embedded below.
Watch the extended Super Bowl TV spot for Shane Black's Iron Man 3, in high def via Facebook:
Iron Man 3 is directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) working from a script that he co-wrote with Drew Pearce. Actor Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark and Iron Man in this sequel described as a technological crisis thriller in the midst of international war, taking place after the events of The Avengers. Sir Ben Kinglsey is playing Iron Man's arch nemesis Mandarin and Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Dale Dickey, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale and Jon Favreau all co-star in the Marvel Studios production. Disney is bringing Marvel's Iron Man 3 to theaters starting May 3rd this year.

From 2008 to the end of 2015 they are going to have an 12 film franchise...in just 7 years. That's AWESOME. Nothing like that has ever been done.

The same can be said for A LOT of the things Marvel has done, Ive always been a DC guy myself so its a shame the heads there have there heads up there asses but Marvel has truly been record breaking.

It seems that Marvel is successful at making their comics into movies than DC, maybe just maybe DC has their heads up their asses. Iron Man 3 looks a lot better than Iron Man 2 and that's based on a trailer with limited footage but having the Mandarin as the villain should've been in the 2nd Iron Man movie

They made a bit of a mistake by trying to 'save' material for future entries. For example, the 'demon in a bottle' storyline was going to come into play in the 2nd film, then they thought the 3rd, but now it seems like that isn't going to get adapted at all. Favreau also wasn't TOO keen on working in so much 'set-up' material for The Avengers, but he did it anyway...and the film suffered.
