Watch: Featurette Dives into the Future of Neill Blomkamp's Elysium'

We've already seen the most recent, extended and impressive trailer for Elysium, the new sci-fi film from District 9 director Neill Blomkamp. Some early reviews have praised the new film, and it's going to hit IMAX theaters on August 9th around the world. Now a new featurette dives into the world of Elysium, and the dichotomy of a third-world planet with the lush, extravagant space station built for the rich. Matt Damon and Jodie Foster also pop up in the featurette, diving into some brief character details and plot information. This could be another powerful sci-fi film that makes waves like District 9 did. Watch below!

Elysium, directed by South African filmmaker Neill Blomkamp (of District 9), focuses on Secretary Rhodes (Foster), a hardened government official, who will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. However, that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
