Watch: First Quick Teasers for Soderbergh's 'Behind the Candelabra'
Before Elvis; before Elton John, Madonna, and Lady Gaga, there was Liberace. The one-and-only piano maestro! Yes, they actually made this film, and it won't be hitting theaters because HBO Films picked it up and will be airing the premiere on there later this year. The next feature from Steven Soderbergh is Behind The Candelabra: The Secret Life Of Liberace (everything is explained right in that title), starring Michael Douglas as Liberace and Matt Damon as his lover Scott Thorson. HBO has unveiled two short teasers, the most recent of which (#2) actually contains some footage. It looks as glamorous as you'd expect.
Here are the first two teasers for Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra, from HBO's YouTube:
HBO Films presents Behind the Candelabra, starring Academy Award winners Michael Douglas and Matt Damon; executive produced by Jerry Weintraub; directed by Steven Soderbergh (Sex Lies and Videotape, Out of Sight, Traffic, Ocean's 11 - 13, Solaris, The Good German, Che, The Girlfriend Experience, The Informant, Contagion, Haywire, Magic Mike, Side Effects) from a screenplay by Oscar nominee Richard LaGravenese (of The Fisher King, The Horse Whisperer, P.S. I Love You, Water for Elephants, Beautiful Creatures). The film is produced by Gregory Jacobs, Susan Ekins and Michael Polaire. HBO will premiere Steven Soderbergh's Behind the Candelabra on their channel May 26th at 9/8c. Anyone interested in this?

Bravo! I love Liberace! If only Bryan Singer had an ounce of his talent, imagine the possibilities!

What else does Bryan Singer have in common with Liberace than that he's gay too? Are you homophobically trolling or what's your point? Personally I must say that Singer's X-Men are one of my favourite films, but Liberace's glam world leaves me cold.

Really looking forward to see how this work compares with the other bio-pics on Liberace.
