Well, this came together quick. The first look photos for James Wan's The Conjuring just emerged last fall, and now the first trailer for the summer horror release is here. Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Patrick Wilson (Insidious) plays a husband and wife team of demonologists and psychic investigators who enter the most horrifying case of their career as they investigate spirits in a Rhode Island farmhouse. However, it's Lily Taylor who takes the brunt of the horror in a film that feels like Paranormal Activity meets Insidious, but without the found footage angle. I'm now officially scared of clapping. Watch below!
Here's the first trailer for James Wan's The Conjuring, in high def from Apple:
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives. James Wan (Saw, Insidious) directs from a script by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor and Joey King star in the film which Warner Bros. sends to theaters on July 19th, 2013. Spooky?

If you look at the shots where she is first going down the stairs, there is a box of them right on the ledge of the wall.... so, my guess is, she got them there.

Trust some douche with a shitty blog to say that. You're not a real movie reviewer, so stop trying to be one. Don't quit your day job (assuming you have one).

And for the record I have no idea how to change my name. I do review movies though. I'm not sure how you'd define a "real" movie reviewer. Siskel and Ebert? People that do it in the newspaper? Magazines? Internet? Blogs? Livejournal? WordPress? Snappy comeback though.

Big fan of horror films, but I just haven't seen anything by Wan that I haven't cringed at how poorly made it was. Chances are, I'll eventually give this one a shot too...only to be inevitably disappointed again.

Man, that last clap actually got me to jump in my seat a bit. It's good when they can scare you even though you know it's coming.
