"Life is a good adventure." Oooh, this looks pretty good. Tashmoo Productions and Amber Entertainment have produced an independent adaptation of bestselling author Judy Blume's novel Tiger Eyes, starring young actress Willa Holland as Davey. The story tells of a coming-of-age romance about a girl who moves to New Mexico and befriends a Native American named Wolf, played by Tatanka Means. There are a few cheesy, and somewhat melodramatic moments, but the trailer gets better as it goes on, and actually shows what looks like a strong character piece. Whether you're familiar with the novel or not, give it a look below.
Here's the first official trailer for Judy Blume's Tiger Eyes, in high def from Vimeo:
After Davey's father is killed in a hold-up, she and her mother and younger brother visit relatives in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Here Davey (Willa Holland) is befriended by a mysterious young Native-American named Wolf (Tatanka Means) who helps her find the strength to get past her pain and conquer her fears.
Tiger Eyes is written & directed by Lawrence Blume, son of author Judy Blume, who wrote the 1981 novel this is based on. The film began production in October 2010 and first premiered at the Sonoma Film Festival last year. It won Best Feature in Palm Beach. Tiger Eyes arrives in theaters and on VOD starting June 7th.

I remember the girls at my school reading Judy Blume books and the teachers would go crazy and burn them in front of the school because they were evil.
