Salinger Doc Trailer

"Mystery… we all like mystery." The Weinstein Company has released this full trailer for Salinger, the documentary by Shane Salerno (writer on Shaft and Savages) presenting one of the most comprehensive looks at the reclusive author of The Catcher in the Rye. The doc features lots of interviews and footage, photographs and other material painting a mysterious picture of a haunted but brilliant individual. In this trailer they show Edward Norton, John Cusack, Martin Sheen, Danny DeVito and playwright John Guare speaking briefly, with many others featured in the doc itself. This looks like a very compelling watch.

Here's the full theatrical trailer for Shane Salerno's Salinger documentary, originally from Yahoo:

An unprecedented look inside the private world of J.D. Salinger, the reclusive author of The Catcher in the Rye. Shane Salerno's Salinger features interviews with 150 subjects including Salinger's friends, colleagues and members of his inner circle who have never spoken on the record before as well as film footage, photographs and other material that has never been seen. The film is the first work to get beyond the Catcher in the Rye author’s meticulously built up wall: his childhood, painstaking work methods, marriages, private world and the secrets he left behind after his death in 2010. The Weinstein Company will release Shane Salerno's Salinger doc in limited theaters starting September 6th later this fall. Anyone intrigued?

The tone of the trailer was a little over the top, more like they're plugging something from Discovery channel. But hell, it's JD Salinger, why wouldn't you want to see this?

Ok, I have never wanted to see a documentary more.
