Last fall we got a very bloody first look at the found footage horror sequel S-VHS, which is making its debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month (just like the original). Eduardo Sanchez (Blair Witch Project) and The Raid: Redemption helmer Gareth Evans are attached to direct segments along with Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun). In addition, Macabre director Timo Tjahjanto will co-direct his segment with Evans, and we now have the first teaser trailer for the film, and it looks like there will be some more cool short horror tales to behold. We'll be sure to see this one at midnight in the mountains. Watch!
Here's the very first trailer for the found footage horror anthology sequel S-VHS, originally via EW:
S-VHS is the sequel to the 2012 Sundance Film Festival selected found footage horror anthology V/H/S and this time directors Gareth Evans (The Raid), Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre) Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and his long time producer Greg Hale, Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun) and Adam Wingard (You're Next) are all at the helm of segments, in addition to V/H/S segment writer Simon Barrett making his directorial debut. S-VHS just premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival (our video review), but no official theatrical release date has been set yet. Stay tuned for coverage on this film and more right here.

I really enjoyed the mayhem at the birthday party and especially the last scene with whatever that was attacking the car, looked like pretty terrific carnage.

This looks good but so did the trailer for V/H/S and that was a huge letdown.

He's right. Excited by the trailer and concept, ho-hum execution. Was really disappointed.

I loved VHS. I enjoyed all the shorts. they were fun and to the point. it had all the jump scares, gore, and monsters I wanted. Sure, they should have left the succubus demon movie for the end (being one of the best films imo), but other than that, i was satisfied. as for S-VHS, I can't wait! I work at the Haunted Hotel in downtown San Diego as a scare actor, and one of our SFX/makeup artists did some work here and there for one of the shorts in this. so there's bigger spark of interest in this for me.

V/H/S wasn't awful, it just had no point other than to watch VHS tapes, and some of the mini stories should've been thought through a little more (looking at you Glenn McQuaid and Tuesday the 17th...man that was bad...). Maybe there will be some kind of semblance to a story this go around (probably not)? All in all I was entertained by the original and I'm looking forward to seeing what this second go around has to offer. Especially with Gareth Evans attached, very cool IMO.

Found footage movies are such a tired sub-genre.
