Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters

After getting a glimpse of the first look photos last week, Logan Lerman is officially back in hero form in the first trailer for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, the sequel to the franchise starter Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Joined again by his companions Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth and Brandon T. Jackson as the satyr Grover, Percy is out to save his homeland and Camp Half-Blood from some destruction. With the MacGuffin in this sequel being a Golden Fleece, our heroes must face more danger in the Bermuda Triangle. It looks kind of cheap, but hey, there's Nathan Fillion.

Here's the first trailer for Thor Freudenthal's Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, via MTV:

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is directed by Thor Freudenthal with a script by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The sequel finds Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, continuing his epic journey to fulfill his destiny, as he teams with his demigod friends to retrieve the Golden Fleece, which has the power to save their home and training ground, Camp Half-Blood. Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson reprise their roles from the first film and are joined by the likes of Nathan Fillion, Douglas Smith, Leven Rambin, Stanley Tucci and more. The film hits theaters on August 16th late this summer. Cool?
