The World's End

The first quad posters for The World's End from director Edgar Wright just arrived earlier this week, and now the first trailer for the film starring Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz duo Simon Pegg and Nick Frost has arrived. Damn, did we miss this gang. This looks like everything we've come to expect and more from the last part of the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy. Sci-fi action, great comedy, and just a hell of a lot of fun is coming. Plus the addition of Paddy Considine and Martin Freeman in bigger roles than they've had previously in Wright's films is a nice touch, and Rosamund Pike is a real pretty treat. Don't miss this!

Here's the first teaser trailer for Edgar Wright's The World's End, originally from MSN UK:

Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) is writing and directing The World's End, third part of the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them (Pegg) becomes hellbent on restaging a drinking marathon and reach the fabled pub, The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just their's but humankind’s. Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike and Eddie Marsan also star in the film arriving in US theaters on August 23rd.

First I was like, "This is going to be pretty good," then I was like, "HELL YEAH! THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!" I am pleased.

There never was any doubt, it's gunna be a blast! How do you show a guy who's stuck in the 80'? Put a Sisters of Mercy shirt on him, hehe

David Banner on May 8, 2013

Love the fence gag, as far as I'm concerned it should make an appearance every time Wright puts out a film. A bloody good time indeed this shall be.

Jace on May 7, 2013

FINALLY! Been waiting to see some footage for so long. And dear lord it did not disappoint. Cannot wait! "Beer." "Mmmmm."

Oh this made me laugh!! Oh mate!! 😉

Sucks the film is also going to competing with This Is The End even though I am excited for both films after seeing this trailer. They even both have a selection of my favourite actors and look equally funny. I just hope the critics aren't too harsh on them because of that, they are the comedy films we deserve.

Derek Steinberg on May 7, 2013

Brilliant with a capital B.

Quanah on May 7, 2013

Best Trilogy Ever??

It's too much too epic to be just a trailer. Unfortunately in Argentina will not be released on theaters.

capitandelespacio on May 8, 2013

Same in Chile 🙁

Nicolas Vogt on May 8, 2013

So... Amazon+Cornetto Trilogy it is.

capitandelespacio on May 8, 2013

I was expecting something a little different not really sure what I was expecting but this just blew me away it has surpassed me expectations and yes I was interested earlier (loved Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz) but now this is on my most anticipated list of the year! I'll bring the beers! 😉

So Extremis made its way to England??

nordy812 on May 8, 2013

don't really like mint Cornetto's...but I may have just been converted! Kinda bummed they showed the shortcut gag...was wanting that to be a surprise. It looks fantastic...the shot where Pegg punches and gets punched by someone else was epic!

Xerxexx on May 8, 2013

"… and Rosamund Pike is a real pretty treat." Is FirstShowing after an exclusively male audience then? Lazy gender writing is lazy. The trailer, however, is bloody great.

MisterEMeet on May 8, 2013

Its ran by a dude...there is a female writer here somewhere.

Xerxexx on May 8, 2013

Well, Rosamund is in it for barely two seconds, she is a "real pretty treat" in this teaser. What would've been non-lazy writing? "Rosamund Pike is also in it." That's boring. We are mostly guys here, but we try to cover from a non-specific angle for the most part, it just depends on the content/what we observe.

Alex Billington on May 8, 2013

"Rosamund Pike, a woman with a symmetrical and objectively non-off-putting face and body which may be appealing to heterosexual men, makes a brief appearance." Duh Alex. Who needs exciting writing when you can be politically correct!

Wafffles on May 8, 2013

Don't even joke like that.

Xerxexx on May 8, 2013

The term "politically correct" is getting abused by whiners who need to be in the center of attention with their complaining about every minutiae of a hint of a possibility somebody is offensive to someone else. We need to fight for the rights of "politically correct" so it does not suffer the same fate as the original meaning of the word "awesome".

DAVIDPD on May 8, 2013

Lazy reply is lazy. If you can think of no other ways of doing it, your writing chops are pretty poor.

MisterEMeet on May 9, 2013

Careful your troll is showing.

Xerxexx on May 9, 2013

Your attitude is a little poor. Either read the site or don't. You are the reason why the divorce rate is so high in this world: damn women can never be happy & is always bitching.

Nick on May 9, 2013

So you are against lesbians then ? You homophobe.

hyperbole on May 8, 2013

The Cornetto Trilogy is complete!!!!!!!!!!!

MKultra on May 8, 2013

Mark Heap (AKA Brian from "Spaced") at the 1:15 mark... hell yes!

Pendy16 on May 8, 2013

It would be nice if we see Daisy in this one as well. I can't remember if she was in Hot Fuzz, but she showed up as "Yvonne" in Shaun.

JL on May 10, 2013

I love this movies with the same pair of actors and director. like classic films.

TOONFED on May 8, 2013

If this movie were made in hollywood, the movie will be about old guys trying to take over the old bars in Chicago it will end with a hooker, (or a dead hooker) mafia and the cast of SNL. But Wright, knows how to take things out of the box.

TOONFED on May 8, 2013

Is it just me or was that the worst playback quality in quite a few years?

Felix on May 8, 2013

Agreed. Worst quality trailer I've seen in a long time.

Nick on May 9, 2013

Can't wait. Anything they sell, I buy.
