Watch: Full Theatrical Trailer for Disney's 'Cars' Spin-Off 'Planes'

For audiences who think that the Cars franchise might be the weakest work from Pixar Animation, this new trailer for Disney's spin-off Planes (which doesn't have the aforementioned animation house behind it) is a little hard to watch. Sure, there's some stunning animation and the flying sequences are going to look amazing on the big screen in 3D, but the writing is just stale and the humor is flat. Dane Cook does not have the right voice for the lead character Dusty, and this feels like nothing but a cash grab. We were hoping this could turn out to be something special, but this trailer has no heart. We hope the movie is much better.

Here's the full theatrical trailer for Disney Animation's Planes, originally from Moviefone:

Planes is directed by Klay Hall ("King of the Hill," Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure) and follows Dusty (Dane Cook), a small town crop dusting plane who longs to enter the most epic around-the-world air race despite his fear of heights. But Dusty's not exactly built for racing, so he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. The voice cast also includes Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, John Cleese, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Brad Garrett, Gabriel Igelsias, Teri Hatcher and more. Disney Animation sends Planes to theaters on on August 9th, 2013 this summer. Thoughts?

This is just plain horrible... I mean I'm 30, not 5, so it's not aimed at me, but it didn't feel like Disney films were aimed at children until these pieces of shit came hurtling off the screen.

Dane Cook = dead franchise.

This looks bad... and the ones in charge of this should feel bad.

Another Pixar toy commercial thinly disguised as a kids' movie.
