Watch: Heroes & Villains Face-Off in Red Band 'Kick-Ass 2' Featurette

Though new cast member Jim Carrey may not be throwing his support behind the comic book sequel Kick-Ass 2, plenty of fans are still excited to see the film finally hit the big screen next week. Now a new red band featurette gives us a closer look at the heroes and villains facing off as Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and his Justice Forever ensemble colleagues team up to take on Red Mist turned villainous Mother Fucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). There's some glimpses of a couple action sequences, but not enough to spoil the whole movie, not to mention great new moments for Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl. Watch!

After Kick Ass' (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), reborn as The Mother Fucker, only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. Donald Faison, John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut and more also star in Kick-Ass 2, the comic book sequel based on the series by Mark Millar. Jeff Wadlow writes and directs the sequel arriving in theaters on August 16th. Excited yet?
