Watch: Jason Statham Faces James Franco in First 'Homefront' Trailer

September 12, 2013
Source: Yahoo

Just a couple days ago, the first look photos from director Gary Fleder's new crime thriller Homefront arrived, and now the first trailer is here, pitting Jason Statham against James Franco. Yet again, Statham finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. As a DEA agent just trying to enjoy retired life, Statham finds himself confronting a crime ring led by Franco when their children get into a schoolyard confrontation. When Franco aims to gets some dirt on the new small town resident, he learns he's an undercover cop and assumes he's there to bust him. The trailer looks generic and gives a little too much away, but this battle between Franco and Statham seems fun. Oh, and look at white trash Kate Bosworth!

Here's the first trailer for Gary Fleder's Homefront, originally from Yahoo:

Homefront is directed by Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Don't Say a Word) and written by veteran action star, director and producer Sylvester Stallone. Jason Statham plays a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent Phil Broker who is trying to leave his violent life behind him. He moves with his daughter to small-town Louisiana, where he butts heads with a crime faction including a former biker chick (Winona Ryder) and the local crime leader, Gator (James Franco). Kate Bosworth and Frank Grillo also star in the film which Open Road Films will send to movie theaters this fall on November 27th. Interested?

Jason Statham punches and kicks people is one of my favourites genres. I can't wait to see this movie.

This looks pretty badass. Curious as to why Franco would want to be in it though.

That's like asking why was he in Spring Breakers.

Mxyzptlk on Sep 12, 2013

Not really. Spring Breakers was more of an art film. A lot of actors want to do those.

Nielsen700 on Sep 12, 2013

Yeah, if he wanted to be in a terrible movie.

Mxyzptlk on Sep 12, 2013

I don't think James Franco considers your taste in film when choosing what projects to do.

looks fun, weird to see franco here though.

over the course of the trailer this went from looking really dumb to really fun. can't get over jason statham's accent in what looks like the hick-ass deep south though.

This actually surprised me. Just from looking at the picture of Franco and Statham facing off and reading the slight info for the film i instantly judged it as garbage. But after watching the trailer it actually looks decent and the plot isn't as mindless as i thought it would be

Nowhere to Run (1993) meets Taken

Holy shit the film actually looks good. It doesn't give too much away either. Solid trailer too.

Looks like a cool movie.. However not one that should have the 'This Thanksgiving" tag...that was the creepiest thing in the trailer!

Looks surprisingly good. I'm really liking the idea of Winona Ryder and Kate Bosworth as villains.

Omg I was not expecting this going in, this movie looks like a fun ride...I love Statham when he's believable as someone else besides Jason Statham lol

Franco against Statham? kkkkkk Seem's a pretty fucked idea... It's more like a bull against a ant....
