"Alone, what can you do? Together we have power." The Weinstein Company has debuted yet another new trailer (see the original trailer here) for Justin Chadwick's Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, the latest Nelson Mandela movie starring Idris Elba as Madiba. To help sell the story, they've teased some of the new U2 song titled "Ordinary Love" in the trailer, which was recently written for the movie and commissioned by Harvey Weinstein. The film played at TIFF last month but didn't get that much outstanding buzz aside from Elba, who gives a performance "for the ages", as expected. This is a powerful trailer and the song works beautifully in the last half. I'll admit I'm a bit more interested in seeing this movie now, good work Harvey.
Here's the newest trailer for Justin Chadwick's Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, from Yahoo:
Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom is directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) and written by William Nicholson (Gladiator, Les Miserables). Idris Elba leads the film which chronicles Nelson Mandela's life journey from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa. Naomie Harris (Skyfall) co-stars as Mandela's wife Winnie with a supporting cast that also includes Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Deon Lotz and Terry Pheto. The Weinstein Company will give the film a limited release starting November 29th. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival with many reviews praising Elba for his "towering performance." Worth seeing?

I think that was part of his torture, Bono probably even came to visit him a few times.
