Watch: New 'Man of Steel' Promos with More High-Flying Action

May 10, 2013

Man of Steel

With the action of Iron Man 3 in our past, the next blockbuster coming from the page of comic books arrives in June with Man of Steel. Each new TV spot shows  just a little more of this epic superhero reboot, and it keeps looking better and better. Unfortunately, a new TV spot from the UK is a little bit tricky and uses a Yahoo Movies pull quote, seemingly from a positive review, when it's really from a summer preview article. Meanwhile, another strange spot is an ad made in conjunction with the National Guard, using the moniker "Soldier of Steel" to recruit interested parties. At the very least, there's some cool new footage. Watch now!

Here's the newest promo spots for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, found via The Playlist:

A child sent to Earth from a dying planet is adopted by a couple in rural Kansas. Posing as a journalist, Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) uses his extraordinary powers to protect his new home from an insidious evil.

Man of Steel, the new DC Comics Superman reboot, is being directed by Zack Snyder, of Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen & Sucker Punch previously. Christopher Nolan is producing, and co-wrote the story with David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Unborn, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance), who wrote the script. Warner Bros is bringing Man of Steel to theaters everywhere June 14th this summer. Will you be there?

You can tell it's graduation season in a shitty job market when they're marketing to boys who like Superman.

Matt Peloquin on May 10, 2013

Cannon fodder.

Carpola on May 10, 2013

You market it then

poopy butt on May 10, 2013

I'm not talking about the film, I'm talking about the military.

Matt Peloquin on May 11, 2013

How is that chin real? LOL.

DAVIDPD on May 10, 2013

Xerxexx on May 10, 2013

Army adverts?

Carpola on May 10, 2013

I'd love to see a Superman trailer where every character didn't look like they were mere seconds away from crying. "An ideal to strive towards"? Give us a movie to be entertained by, please.

Matt on May 10, 2013

Any reason we can't have both?

Ali Miller on May 10, 2013

I'd be fine with both too, but has there been a single piece of footage released where Superman himself does anything interesting? In that commercial he walks down halls, does a few flybys, gets walked down another hall, raises his hand up, and yells...

Matt on May 10, 2013

Did you not see the punches? From the third trailer? Or him saving the peeps from the oil rig or the smile he gave Lois? Or him as a child happily playing with his dog? Just pay attention next time, please.

poopy butt on May 10, 2013

Just rewatched trailer 3... my dream of seeing Superman happily playing with his dog will finally be realized!!! But in all seriousness, there's still only about 3-4 seconds of him doing anything interesting. I have no doubt that Michael Shannon will be entertaining as hell, and the alien ships and random explosions look cool and all, but Superman himself just seems super dull.

Matt on May 10, 2013

Matt, stop trolling. Really. Just skip the movie, save you the agony and money. Everyone wins. k thx.

Sascha Dikiciyan on May 10, 2013

Watch Trailer #3 again.

Ali Miller on May 10, 2013

It's Emo-times now. crying is soooo gooood.

Carpola on May 10, 2013

10/10 troll job...congrats Matt

Im no fan of Snider or really Nolan but i am a huge fan of Superman. And I have to admit that this looks more and more epic everytime i see some new footage. Henry just seems to nailed his part. I wasn't sure about the buff superman look but it really adds a lot more visually. Trying to keep my hopes in check but this is now really on my must see list. Well done...

pause on:28 seconds of the first tv trailer with Zod using his heat vison. directly in the center of the screen over Zod's right shoulder and just below the ceiling structure you can CLEARLY make out the image of what to me looks like the late, great american superhero Christopher Reeve bka Clark Kent bka Superman..hair and all!! He's looking directly in the camera as if to say "I'm still with you all..and the world is finally ready for the next great chapter in the amazing story of Kal-El's journey." I was at a loss for words when I paused and found this stunning image of our late hero. May he enjoy the spoils of our heavenly fathers kingdom in heaven for eternity and I can't wait to get there and meet you my dear sir Christopher!! We love you and you are GREATLY and INFINITELY missed!!! With Honestly loving regards, -David E Jones- Omaha,NE

Quanah on May 10, 2013

Haha same here. I feel like cartman

poopy butt on May 10, 2013

Típico de los gringos... reclutando soldados en audiencias consistentes primariamente de niños, Bravo! Agarrenlos mientras son niños... así se resisten menos. Typical from Americans... recruiting soldiers from an audience conformed primarly of Children, Bravo! Catch'em while they're kids... that way they won't resist as much.

Abelardo Gutierrez Chavez on May 10, 2013

TYPICAL from a troll

Guest on May 11, 2013

Yeah man...the US is like so evil man...like worse than the Nazis man...like they totally blew up the Trade Center man...and like framed some other people to like steal their oil man

Guest on May 11, 2013

Everytime I watch these great clips with Zod (this one with him using his heat vision 😀 ), it makes me thrilled were not seeing yet another Sup movie with Lex and kryptonite!

JBrotsis on May 10, 2013

Ditto that! So glad they went with Zod!!

Sascha Dikiciyan on May 10, 2013

Superman....what a boring concept.... it has been done already.... and failed...why waste time & money to do it again????

guido_jenkins on May 10, 2013

Trolls....what a boring concept

Guest on May 11, 2013

Haters can hate and the trolls can troll. Maybe you'd rather just go back back to watching the old George Reeves Superman TV show. The show where they'd shoot at Superman and he'd stand there. Then when the guys ran out of bullets they'd throw their guns and Superman, and he'd duck. Then he'd get into a fist fight with the bad guys. Superman can bounce bullets off his chest but fists and guns thrown at him hurt? This movie can't be that bad and certainly not as bad as Superman IV The Quest for Peace.

shivinity on May 10, 2013

BIG LOL at the Army TV ad. America are the biggest fucking terrorists of all.

guest@gmail.com on May 10, 2013

What a moron

I'm calling it now... this year's Green Lantern.

SanDee on May 10, 2013

capitandelespacio on May 10, 2013

What the hell is with the army ad?? This country is so ridiculously!

SkyNet300 on May 11, 2013

Lol I meant ridiculous not ridiculously.

SkyNet300 on May 11, 2013

Wow...that soldier commercial might end up costing a Man of Steel ton of lost revenue abroad...

David Banner on May 11, 2013

Are you serious? What is WB/DC doing using Superman to recruit kids for the military? That's just irresponsible. I won't be taking my kids to see this film.

Parent on May 11, 2013

That was rather unsettling the trailer with the military. Join the national guard and turn your guns on your own people because your government says that we are all terrorist suspects. Thats the weird vision i had while watching the trailer, scary tho using superman as a recruitment ground!!
