The Monuments Men

"Mr. President, we are at a point in this war that is the most dangerous to the greatest historical achievements known to man." If you've watched the trailers for The Monuments Men and thought that this feels like Ocean's Eleven heads to World War II, this new trailer from the UK will only strengthen that observation as it includes a recognizable track from the first heist film that also starred George Clooney and Matt Damon. While the film still looks fantastic, we just wish it hadn't been delayed to February 2014, therefore completely shaking up the Oscar race this season. At least we don't have to wait another year.

Here's the new UK trailer for George Clooney's The Monuments Men from The Daily Mail:

The Monuments Men is directed by George Clooney (Good Night and Good Luck, The Ides of March) who co-wrote the script with his producing partner Grant Heslov. An adaptation Robert M. Edsel's book of the same name, the film follows the true story of a hand-picked group of art experts chosen by the U.S. government to retrieve artwork stolen by the Nazis. Clooney also stars in the film along with an impressive cast including Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban and Hugh Bonneville. Columbia Pictures releases the delayed film February 17th next year. Looking good?

This is gonna be great. Saw some shooting in Berlin earlier this year. George Clooney himself was there. The set and actors had a great vibe and energy. I absolutely believe in this movie.

I feel like todays generation isn't going to care about the core premise of this movie, how the preservation of art is the preservation of the generations who created them.

I just want to see the part where Brad belts Shia in the mouth. AGH RIGHT! that was during rehearsal.
