Nicolas Winding Refn PSA

"Nicolas may seem like a nice guy." Yep, another "Don't Talk" PSA from the Alamo Drafthouse. This one features Nicolas Winding Refn, writer & director of Only God Forgives (interviewed here), reminding everyone to turn off their phones and please don't talk during movies. This is a very casual video, with Refn sitting in a comfy chair with a nice white shirt and cool drink, but it's still fun to see. Plus it's another way to remind everyone that Only God Forgives is coming out soon. Yes, it got mixed reviews in Cannes, but see it for yourself and decide. Or if you don't go, he'll get Ryan Gosling to do… things… to you. Or your girlfriend.

Alamo Drathouse presents its latest "Don't Talk" PSA as nice guy Nicolas Winding Refn tells viewers where to keep their phones during a movie…or else. Direct from Vimeo. This is the latest in their series of Alamo Drafthouse PSAs, that show before the movies at Drafthouse theaters nationwide, featuring various talent from upcoming films remind people to turn off their phones and stay quiet during movies. Recently they've had: Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy (from Before Midnight) and James Franco (from Spring Breakers). If only they could've nabbed Gosling, he would've been the ultimate get in one of these PSAs. Visit Drafthouse.com.

Hahaha that was kinda funny... "Wait, no... This music is annoying..." That was good.

Another one of these stupid things. I actually stopped by the Alamo Drafthouse on the way home from the Leander high school graduation, and it was very underwhelming. The business may have a strong cult following and internet presence, but it held no particular charm for me. It's even in a crummy area - homeless and beggars crowding the overpass 75 yards away.

Sorry. That's a miss.
