Watch: Pete Holmes is Drunk as James Bond & Fires X-Men's Gambit
by Ethan Anderton
November 4, 2013
In case you didn't know, "The Pete Holmes Show" is already airing on TBS, and the comedian has a penchant for sending up prominent characters in pop culture. Before the show premiered, Holmes debuted a hilarious short in which he played Professor X, forced to fire Wolverine for being a surprisingly inefficient member of the X-Men team. Now has back with another installment of Ex-Men, this time getting rid of the Cajun, card-throwing Gambit (played by Thomas Middleditch). Summing up his mutant powers as "throwing stuff," including any kind of card, Professor X is unhappy with Gambit, and he's definitely fired.
Here's Pete Holmes as Professor X firing Gambit in Ex-Men from TBS:
Also, here's Pete Holmes as a Lightweight James Bond in outtakes from Skyfall, also from TBS:
In the above short, Holmes doesn't put on a faux British accent, but as James Bond, he's forced to consume many genuine martinis as Smirnoff is an official sponsor of the film. As Holmes desperately points out, they could just use water and know one would no, but with each flubbed take, James Bond gets more and more drunk, even slowly deteriorating into Colonel Sanders from Kentucky Fried Chicken fame. Funny stuff?
