RED 2

Following the most recent trailer for RED 2, the action ensemble starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich and more looks like it's going to be a great blast later this summer. In fact, Summit Entertainment has already hired franchise writers Jon and Erich Hoeber to start working on the script for RED 3. But we still have a few weeks before RED 2 hits theaters, and the marketing team has cleverly used the headline making news about the NSA phone call monitoring system and President Obama's speech reacting to the revelation in a new TV spot for the film. Hopefully the sequel delivers the goods. Watch now!

Here's the NSA-themed TV spot for Dean Parisot's RED 2 from Summit Entertainment:

Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane) will be taking over for director Robert Schwentke on RED 2, and the story follows our veteran team of retired spies (Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren) as they use their old school methods to face new enemies across Europe. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee join the mix this time and Anthony Hopkins shows up, too. RED is based on the comic book series written by Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner published by WildStorm. Summit will be releasing RED 2 in theaters everywhere on August 2nd, 2013 this summer. Excited yet?

I saw an advanced screening of this as I am certain the folks from this site have and I have to say that this is an excellent movie and I plan on seeing this again on opening night.
