This is the End

Going by both the red band trailer and much more tame green band trailer, all sorts of hell will be unleashed upon Hollywood in This is the End, the apocalyptic comedy from writers and directors Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. There's been glimpses of aliens, weird creatues, giant pits, and tons of fire, and now some religious terror in a red band TV spot. A creature from hell shows up and it looks like one of the guys ends up getting possessed by Satan or at least some sort of demonic force. Between this and The World's End, the apocalypse is going to rule comedy in theaters this summer, and we're pretty happy about that. Watch now!

Here's the red band TV spot for Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg's This is the End from Yahoo:

This is the End is written and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who wrote Superbad together) and follows Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel attending a party at James Franco's house with a bunch of other celebrities when the end of the world begins out of nowhere. Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jason Segel, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Rihanna, Emma Watson and many more all have cameos in the film which is just one of two apocalyptic comedies arriving next year (the other is Edgar Wright's The World's End with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost). Sony Pictures will open This is the End starting June 12th.

Holy shnikes...that is gonna be epic.

Xerxexx on May 22, 2013

I very much agree with your enthusiasm to see this movie. It's gonna be a blast...but I think "epic" is not the right word. Epic seems more for movies like Star Trek, World War Z, or Pacific Rim (the word gets tossed to much). But this movie is gonna be solid, a real stellar movie. Sorry if it sounds like I'm nit picking, I'm really not trying to be a douchebag bout it.

No probs. I agree that Epic is overused.

Xerxexx on May 22, 2013

agreed. "epic" doesn't fit comedys. but this looks to be the comedy equivalent, haha

Why are they spoiling things that would be hilarious to see for the first time on the big screen??

ZMFilmWizard on May 22, 2013

I saw this last night, and it was funny as hell, but damn.. I am glad I didn't see this trailer (or even the headline picture) before I saw it. Hate being spoiled on great comedy surprises beforehand.

"...just one of two apocalyptic comedies arriving next year..." - whoops. Copy/Paste fail?
