Watch: Saoirse Ronan & Alexis Bledel in First 'Violet & Daisy' Trailer
"Can you handle it?" Cinedigm has debuted an official trailer for the release of Geoffrey Fletcher's Violet & Daisy, starring Alexis Bledel and Saoirse Ronan as young assassins, which first premiered in 2011 at the Toronto Film Festival (where I saw it!). The trailer shows quite a bit of the story and other recognizable actors in it, including James Gandolfini (who they spend a lot of time chatting with) and Danny Trejo. But I'm as unimpressed as I was when I saw it, there's just something very bland about it, despite the rather enticing pitch about these two deadly girls, but that's about all it has. Take a look below if you're interested.
Geoffrey Fletcher's Violet & Daisy is a "brutal fable" about a pair of teenage assassins, played by Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel, who believe they've landed a straightforward assignment but soon find themselves thrown off their game when their latest target isn't what they expected. Violet & Daisy is written & directed by American filmmaker Geoffrey Fletcher, making his feature debut after winning an Oscar for writing the Precious screenplay. The film first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival way back in 2011. Cinedigm will finally be releasing Violet & Daisy in limited theaters starting on June 7th this summer. Anyone into this?
..meh...just can't buy Alexis Bledel as a killer ... the whole thing comes of like a for teenager girls girly girl movie about coming of age ... all it needs is a pony with a shotgun ...

I'm sort of surprised at all the negative reactions to this. I think it looks fantastic. Definitely not what I expected to see. Looks like it's very beautifully shot as well.

Looks good to me 🙂

It looks beautifully shot, but Alexis Bledel is a little stiff when she was shooting those people with those two handguns. I'll watch it on Netflix, though.

I'm with you Danimal. This ROCKS! It's as gorgeous as it is mysterious. Opening weekend, here I come.
