Earlier this month, a cool new featurette keyed us into the plot and cast of Oblivion, the new film from Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, based on a story that he developed as a comic book. Now the release is just around the corner, so it's time for promos to start invading television. Two TV spots have surfaced online and while the first has a collection of mostly footage from the previous trailer (with very small new bits), the second spot shows us plenty of new stuff, including the destruction of the moon and some other familiar abandoned landmarks. We're pretty excited to see how this one turns out. Watch below!

Here are the first two TV spots for Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion, debuted on the film's YouTube:

Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion (also known as Horizons) stars Tom Cruise as Jack Harper, plus Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Zoe Bell, Andrea Riseborough, Melissa Leo and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, Jack's soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands. Kosinski has developed this for years, and wrote it with William Monahan. Universal Pictures currently has Oblivion scheduled to open in IMAX and theaters everywhere April 19th.

dont blame Kosinski for the week script dont watch it

Fernandes.F on Mar 27, 2013

Ok, this actually changes my whole perspective on the movie, guess the story has more than just post-apocalyptic landscapes after all. Tron was for mainly for kids/teenagers and I still loved its story/visuals, so this would have to be watched too.

"I saw the moon get taken out." That line of dialogue just sounds like bad writing.

How would you have wanted them to write it? "Moon go boom boom..."

No more Shamalayn on Mar 26, 2013

Something better than both of those.
