The Blu-Ray and DVD release of Iron Man 3 is coming on September 24th, and one of the bonus features on the disc will include the first featurette for Thor: The Dark World, the next chapter in Phase Two of Marvel's cinematic universe. Complete with interviews featuring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and director Alan Taylor, we get a good tease of where this sequel will take the god of thunder. There's talk of going off-world for most of the movie and seeing the other Nine Realms. Portman teases that it's very "operatic" and the scale is truly epic. See below.
Here's the first featurette for Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World, originally from Trailer Addict:
The Dark World producer Craig Kyle explained to Empire where we find Thor and Asgard in the sequel:
"Asgard at the beginning of the first film was at a time of peace. Now our guys have been fighting for over a year, constantly. It's a time of war. When the Bifrost was broken at the end of the first film, Odin had to conjure a lot of dark energy and go through a lot of personal sacrifice to try and get his son back to Earth. And it was a one-shot deal. If Thor didn't succeed, without the Tesseract he couldn't have got back again. And in our film, finally the Bifrost has been rebuilt, but during that time, when the cops were largely cut off from the rest of the universe, you had miscreants that came in from outside the Nine Realms, pillaging and destroying and causing havoc. So that's what our guys have been doing now - trying to put all these fires out across the Nine Realms."
In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and The Avengers, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) fights to restore order across the cosmos, but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones") directs Thor: The Dark World which arrives in theaters on November 8th. What say you now?

Thor is one of my favorite MCU films, it really showed the humanity of the characters really good, I am really looking forward to this movie.
