Though Independence Day might be through here in the United States, there's still plenty of summer to enjoy, and with that comes some great indie films hitting the scene. Today brings one such release that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past January. The Descendants screenwriters Nat Faxon & Jim Rash get behind the camera this time to direct The Way Way Back, a coming-of-age story led by relative newcomer Liam James and a supporting cast that features Sam Rockwell and Steve Carell. It's hilarious and heart-warming, so make sure you go out of your way to see it whenever you can this summer.
Here's the new UK trailer for Nat Faxon & Jim Rash's The Way Way Back, originally from Empire:
The Way, Way Back is written and directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (The Descendants). The film follows the coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan's (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to find his place in the world. Fox Searchlight releases the film this summer July 5th. Cool?

This movie was REALLY good! Good characters and witty dialogues. Allison Janney was hilarious! So was Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph and everyone else. I think it is definitely one of my favourite movies of the year thus far.
