The Bling Ring Trailer

"That's a cute dress — did you get a new dress?" A24 has unveiled a second trailer for Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, starring Emma Watson as one of the teenage girls who robs Paris Hilton's house and lives the party girl lifestyle. This is also the first time we get introduced to Marc, played by Israel Broussard, who seems to be the only male in the group of girls. The cast also includes Katie Chang, Claire Julien, Taissa Farmiga, Georgia Rock and Leslie Mann. This is a much more straightforward trailer than the first teaser, but it delves into their wild side and crazy activities even more. I'm excited to see this in Cannes.

Watch the full theatrical trailer for Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, originally from Yahoo:

Tracking their targets' online, the teens break-in and steal designer clothes and possessions. Reflecting on the naiveté of youth, amplified by today’s culture of celebrity and luxury brand obsession, the members of the Bling Ring introduce us to temptations nearly any teenager would find hard to resist. What starts out as youthful fun spins out of control and reveals a sobering view of modern culture. Based on actual events.

The Bling Ring is both written and directed by American auteur Sofia Coppola, of the films The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette and Somewhere previously. This premieres at the Cannes Film Festival in May. A24 will open The Bling Ring in limited theaters on June 14th this summer. You in?

There are movies not aimed at the demographic of 'me', this is one of them, it looks good though, quotable.

Gorgeous! But all the girls are beautiful. And the guy looks good too 🙂

Oh the things I'll never do to Emma Watson.

That's amazing, and nearly relevant to the topic. Oh, wait...It's not.

In since day one. I think the "message" is a bit too obvious maybe, but considering the audience they're targeting and that Sofia's films end up being very different from the promotional material we see, I'm not worried. Also, I love the last line of the trailer. Perfect delivery, gave me goosebumps. Very excited for this. Happy to see Kirsten Dunst is actually in this and excited for Harris Savides' cinematography. It looks absolutely beautiful.
