"It's mesmerizing." That's our quote, credited to FirstShowing.net, that is part of the new 30-second TV spot released by Focus Features for Derek Cianfrance's legacy epic The Place Beyond the Pines, starring Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes, Bradley Cooper and Ben Mendelsohn. The first trailer for this film was outstanding, and it's a film I've grown to truly admire, having seen it multiple times already. It's a bit of a hard sell especially knowing the full story and triptych format, but this TV spot packs quite a bit of energy. They're quoting my TIFF review and also Kevin from The Playlist's review plus a few others. Give it a look.
Here's the first 30-second TV spot for Derek Cianfrance's The Place Beyond the Pines, from YouTube:
Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a professional motorcycle rider who turns to bank robberies in order to support his newborn son. But when he crosses paths with a rookie police officer (Bradley Cooper), their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud. The Place Beyond the Pines traces the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains. Derek Cianfrance (see our interview here) directs the film and also wrote the script with Ben Coccio and Darius Marder. The cast also includes Rose Byrne and Eva Mendes. Focus Features will release The Place Beyond the Pines in limited theaters March 29th.

Thanks for the reply, I know I could just google it, but I prefer to have a conversation. So 3 different stories sounds to me like Vantage Point and that didn't work out so well. Anyone have an example of a film that handled this film making format correctly?
