'World War Z' Viral Video PSA Warns of 'Crisis Zero' World Epidemic
With the release of World War Z just over a month away, Paramount Pictures is making the effort to begin a viral campaign (no pun intended) for the zombie apocalypse film with a public service announcement warning of an epidemic that has been dubbed Crisis Zero. As part of the effort to keep the word "zombie" out of the marketing and hype surrounding the film, it appears this global threat is being treated as some sort of unknown health condition, which is essentially how the world would address such a disaster anyway. However, upon following the website, this appears to be a United Kingdom centric viral campaign. Watch!
Here's the video for the World War Z viral campaign for Crisis Zero from Yahoo UK:
A UN employee racing against time and fate travels the world trying to stop a growing zombie pandemic.
World War Z is directed by German filmmaker Marc Forster, of films Monster's Ball, Finding Neverland, Stranger Than Fiction, The Kite Runner, Quantum of Solace and Machine Gun Preacher previously. The screenplay was written by Matthew Michael Carnahan (The Kingdom, State of Play) and revised by Damon Lindelof (Star Trek, Prometheus). It's adapted from Max Brooks' beststelling zombie book World War Z. Paramount will release World War Z in theaters on June 21st after being delayed from December last year.

I was really excited when this movie was originally announced. Every additional promo piece they come out with leads me to believe I'm going to be very disappointed.

Agreed. They are just not selling it properly.

Finally a trailer that appeals to what makes the book good, not brad pit fighting zombies to defend his family

For an Emergency Public Service Announcement this feels over-produced and the actions to take are quite vague. "...take action NOW!"---OK, what do I do?

Will they ever say the word "Zombie." Footage people panicking from zombies yet they can't say the reason. Communities in India vanishing, are they zombies now or just gone? Was a zombie driving that dumpster truck!?! FOR GOD'S SAKE USE THE Z-WORD, so many questions, they're doing this all wrong!

Oh, and the article above the video is wrong; Damon Lindelof may have helped come up with the idea for the third act, but he didn't write anything. Drew Goddard is the credit for re-writing the third act of 35-40 minutes
