We've already seen Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy on the big screen together as Spock in Star Trek, but now the two are back together again. This time the Audi car company has pitted the two men together in an amusing competition. After losing a game of chess, Quinto challenges Nimoy to a round of gold, and the two get in to their respective vehicles to see who gets there first. Quinto drives his fancy Audi S7, shot like it's the USS Enterprise, while Nimoy lags behind in his Mercedes (such an inferior vehicle!) singing The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins. There's plenty of great Star Trek references throughout. Watch below!
Here's the Star Trek inspired Spock vs. Spock ad for Audi, via Universe Today:
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated everything the fleet stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a "one man weapon of mass destruction."
Star Trek Into Darkness is the sequel to the J.J. Abrams-directed reboot of Gene Roddenberry's original science fiction series. The screenplay this time was co-written by Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman & Damon Lindelof. Most of the crew is back, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin & John Cho. Paramount is bringing Into Darkness to theaters May 17th this summer.

am i the only one who finds it disgusting that these actors whore themselves out to sell a product. How am i supposed to believe that Quinto is Spock now after seeing him in his hollywood hills pad and cool ride. This kind of shit goes against the whole point of cinema and bringing humanity together. Hate to be a cynic but we need to focus less on the things that divide us like our material possesions and more on what connects us!

You are an adult. You have known for a long time that real people- actors- play characters on film and on tv. If you have a problem buying into that, or buying into the fact that all entertainers "whore" themselves out to slll a product- especially the films and shows they are in- then don't see any movies or tv shows. Filmmaking is not for bringing humanity together; it is about making money. If something good gets made along the way that connects people then it's a bonus.

Dig it. I hope that's how Nimoy is real life: Grumpy, swears, gets mad at his golf clubs, and sings that awful song to himself.

The song "Bilbo Baggins" by Leonard Nimoy himself. The original video is available in YouTube, it's a must see.
