Adam McKay to Direct Ben Schwartz & Seth Rogen in a New Comedy
by Ethan Anderton
September 18, 2014
Though Seth Rogen had bit parts to play in both Step Brothers and the original Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, he's let to have a lead role in a comedy from director Adam McKay. That all changes today with an announcement from McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions, Rogen's Point Grey Pictures and Good Universe (the company behind Neighbors and 50/50) that they've picked up a comedy pitch from "Parks & Recreation" star and Emmy-winning writer Ben Schwartz for an untitled feature film. Both Rogen and Schwartz will also star in the film produced by all of the aforementioned companies. Read on!
There are no plot details known about the project, but all we really need to know is that McKay is attached to direct it, and Rogen and Schwartz will team up for the first time on the big screen. That's already a winning formula right there. McKay offers the standard (though amusing) publicity fluff saying, "Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we’re so excited to work with them. Ben, not so much. Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up…he did come up with a great idea." Rogen adds, "Every two thousand years the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same." We absolutely cannot wait to see what they come up with.

Ben Schwartz can be annoying as Hell, but I would very curious to see how this film plays out.

Ben Schwartz can be THE FUNNIEST PERSON. And when together with Seth Rogen? Sounds fantastic! Hopefully they'll get a script they deserve.
