Most documentaries are meant to shine a light on subjects that general audiences usually know very little about. But it just so happens that a new documentary called American Blogger focuses on an industry we're rather familiar with; or at least that's what we thought until we saw this trailer. Christopher Wiegand has decided to take a cross country trip to speak with a series of bloggers in the United States and claims to "change the way we see an industry." The biggest change in the way we see the industry turns out to be that there only appear to be attractive female bloggers in America. So that's quite a twist. Watch it!
Here's the trailer for Christopher Weigand's American Blogger from Vimeo (via The Playlist):
In a statement about American Blogger, Wiegand says, "The name American Blogger came not because I am representing all of America but because I am traveling America (40 states) in my Airstream and telling the story of the blogger. This film is not supposed to be, nor is it, representing bloggers or America as a whole by any means. These are the women that said yes to my request, they knew my wife and trusted that I would tell this story in a positive way." So a lot of effort went into getting a variety of bloggers who just happened to be friends with the director's wife. Now that's filmmaking, right? The film hits iTunes in June.

This looks like complete garbage. It could have been interesting and funny if they focused on the history, the financial impact, and got a better sample set to interview, but overall I think it was a good concept that failed to execute correctly.

Have no doubt; this is a horror film. Follow Christopher Wiegand as he plans and executes his next cross country killing spree.

That was one of the strangest trailers I have ever seen. It was so cheesy I was expecting that it turns out to be a spoof... something where towards the end and zombie brakes through a window and eats one of the bloggers. This could of actually been interesting if the trailer wouldnt completely turn me off from the movie... that and diversify a bit. I work within the tech/digital world and not all blogs are pretty girls blogging from their modern living rooms.

In order to help pay for my trip across country I made a movie. Please watch it, and send me your money. It took a lot of money to restore my Airstream, and driving to 40 states ain't cheap.

Oh if only the walls of his Airstream could talk.

Weirdly, I'll probably watch this. Didn't this site start out as a movie blog? It's interesting that now, the creators of this site make a living from their content. This seems a little more craft and fashion based, which are obviously massive markets at the moment.
