Anne Hathaway Hiring Robert De Niro as Nancy Meyers' 'The Intern'

First "Saturday Night Live" veteran Tina Fey flocked to The Intern, the new film from Nancy Meyers (It's Complicated, The Holiday), and then Reese Witherspoon stepped into the role. Now there's a change yet again as THR reports Anne Hathaway is in talks to take the lead role in the film about an online fashion business owner thriving from success. However, things get shaken up when she's informed that the company is importing seniors to be interns as a community outreach effort, and one will be under her tutelage. And in case you didn't realize yet, by seniors, we mean senior citizens, geriatrics and old people.
Robert De Niro will play a 70-year old widower bored with retirement, after running his own successful business, who is hired into the program. Initially the man becomes a nuisance but grows to be an invaluable part of the woman's life and business as they bond and develop a touching friendship. Here's hoping it turns out to be one of De Niro's rare, quality projects in this late phase of his career. However, with Meyers at the helm, there's no guarantee it will be anything but another sappy sort of comedy. Anyone interested?

I love all movies that Nancy Meyers has written, produced and directed...all have been a success. I wish she would put out sequals on the Holiday, Something's Gotta Give an It's Complicated...I'm sure the Intern will be great!
