Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Now that the teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been revealed and dissected over and over again (we've even got our own theory about the lightsabers that is nerdy as hell), fans are already looking forward to when we might see the next trailer. Well, SlashFilm has confirmed that there will be a trailer attached to The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which isn't really a big surprise at all. It's a Disney movie, it will likely be the biggest movie of 2015 leading up to the release of Episode VII, and the audience there will be prime for Star Wars hype. But is there a chance we get another trailer between now and then?

SlashFilm hypothesizes that we just might see some more footage before then. First of all, there's another Disney film hitting theaters this month with the musical Into the Woods, but if there's a Star Wars trailer attached to that film, it will likely be the same teaser we've already seen. However, the point that I do find interesting is that the Super Bowl would be a prime time for Disney to unveil some more footage, especially since the House of Mouse has quite the legacy with the big game when players are asked, "You’ve just won the Super Bowl where are you going next?” And for some reason the answer is Disneyland.

So that would be a perfect time to show off some more goodies. In addition, the spring will bring the Disney fairytale Cinderella to theaters (watch the trailer here), and while that doesn't seem like the ideal audience to debut a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, perhaps Disney will cut a trailer that focuses on Daisy Ridley's character. She's one of the new heroes, and having a trailer before Cinderella would be a ripe opportunity to get a new audience of young girls interested in a property that has a larger male audience. Either way, at least we know a new trailer will arrive with The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Cool?

This was to be expected. Next year, Disney is releasing the two most anticipated films of MAYBE the last decade, one in the middle of the year and one at the end. It only makes sense that they would use one to promote the other.

Thanks again Chris

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or genuine.

Even if they didnt promote them using each other both films will probably make 2.7 billion combined. and its crazy scary how that isnt hyperbole, they are going to make that kind of money.

By the end of next year Disney will be able to buy the moon and open a Star Wars theme park there.

thats no moon

Jon Odishaw on Dec 2, 2014

It's made of cheese. As in $$$. So by 2030 Disney will have made a trillion dollars between these two franchises, right?

Reznik on Dec 2, 2014

I like to think the moon is made out of spare ribs

Jon Odishaw on Dec 2, 2014

Close. McRibs.

They might as well build a Mickey shaped Death Star....

TheOct8pus on Dec 2, 2014

Get it. I am all for more and more teasers. Showing clips from random parts of the movie.

DAVIDPD on Dec 2, 2014

I would like to see a new three minute trailer early next year during May and then another five or ten minute final trailer worldwide just before its release next year. Everyone is eager to see all the original cast including the new cast without revealing the main plot or giving away spoilers.
