Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Just last week, we highlighted a video showing the mind-blowing comparison between the completed visual effects in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes with the original motion capture footage shot with Andy Serkis, Toby Kebbell and some of the other ape actors. Now a new TV spots shows off more of the finished film with some new footage from the rise of the simians that the title implies as humans (Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell and more) and apes prepare for a war that they both hoped to prevent while trying to survive in the ruins of San Francisco. We absolutely can't wait to see this. Watch!

Here's the new TV spot for Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes from YouTube:

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species. Besides Serkis, the apes cast includes Judy Greer as Cornelia & Toby Kebbell as Koba. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequel to Rupert Wyatt's revival of the sci-fi franchise Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Directing is Matt Reeves, of Let Me In and Cloverfield previously, from a script written by Mark Bomback, Scott Z. Burns, Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver. 20th Century Fox has Dawn of the Planet of the Apes scheduled for a 3D release on July 11th this summer.

This movie is going to be so awesome I'm just upset the promotional marketing for this has been so low key! I have yet to see any commercials for it on TV and I've literally been at the movie theaters every weekend since Capt 2 (seeing some movies multiple times and at different theaters: Regal, AMC, etc.) and not until XMen: DOFP did they finally reveal the newest trailer there.

I shall remain skeptical a bit longer....
