Earlier this month, the latest comedy from Judd Apatow set a July 24th, 2015 release date, and the title Train Wreck (or Trainwreck) is appropriate considering all of the other big movies hitting theaters that year. Now the film has landed a fantastic leading actor to join star Amy Schumer in the film set up at Universal Pictures. Variety has word that "Saturday Night Live" veteran Bill Hader is currently in talks to take the male lead in the film that Schumer is developing with Apatow as a producer and director. Schumer stars as a complete basket case trying to rebuild her life with her boyfriend, best friend and parent in tow.
As of now, we're not sure what role Hader will, take but we're betting it will be as Schumer's boyfriend. No matter what, we're happy that Hader is getting a lead role in a big studio comedy. Hader previously appeared in a bit role in Apatow's Knocked Up, but after hitting a home run with a leading role in the Sundance selected film The Skeleton Twins (co-starring fellow "SNL" alum Kristen Wiig), we can't wait to see him in a leading role in a film from Judd Apatow. For more of my praise of Hader's work, read my review on The Skeleton Twins right here. Otherwise, stay tuned for anymore updates on this project.
