Exists

Over two years ago, we heard The Blair Witch Project director Eduardo Sanchez would return to found footage, the genre that launched his career, with Exists, a film focusing on the mythical creature Bigfoot. Now the first trailer has arrived, showing off the tale of five friends on a camping weekend in the remote woods of East Texas, who have their fun cut short as they are forced into a game of survival against a legendary predator that is stronger, smarter, and more terrifying than anything they would have ever believed exists. This ain't no Harry and the Hendersons, but can it stand out from other found footage fare?

Here's the first trailer for Eduardo Sanchez's Exists, originally from Apple:

Exists is directed by Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project) and written by Jamie Nash (writer of a segment in V/H/S/2). For five friends, it was a chance for a summer getaway— a weekend of camping in the Texas Big Thicket. But visions of a carefree vacation are shattered with an accident on a dark and desolate country road. In the wake of the accident, a bloodcurdling force of nature is unleashed—something not exactly human, but not completely animal— an urban legend come to terrifying life and seeking murderous revenge. Dora Madison Burge, Samuel Davis, Roger Edwards, Chris Osborn, Brian Steele and Denise Williamson star in the film which Lionsgate releases on iTunes and in theaters this fall on October 24th.

This looks a little too overproduced, which is disappointing since this comes from the guy who made The Blair Witch Project.

Whatever happened to that other found footage film of the couple (with the bigfoot obsessed boyfriend) who went backpacking in light search of Bigfoot??

I know, right! I mean, granted this movie will probably end up on the syfy channel but the poster is pretty awesome!

Hell Yeah. I wonder if they transitioned to the Asian Yeti concept, things would far any better. Pixar could do one for that Yeti from MONSTER'S INC.

That tagline sounds like a genius last-minute decision.

Sorry, but Mighty Boosh already did the love lusty bigfoot mama story. 🙂

Judging from this, we'll get to see Big Foot a lot. which is good in my opinion. I really like the GoPro cam shots in there. That chase scene on the bike trail could be really intense like a roller coaster ride. I hope there's a lot of that in it.

I wanna see a sequel with a group of commandos hunting it down like the team in Predator, and it's shot with helmet cams like the colonial marines in Aliens.

I second that!

it would be much more interesting story if they made movie about orgies and the choices people make afterwards. This looks really ridiculous...

BWP was the most UN-watchable piece of trash in the history of cinema, how can anyone give this guy money to make more crap. Sanchez go away!

So Bigfoot stumbles upon a couple kids making out in the woods? Hmm. Reminds me of a certain horror movie villain. Erhm, if that villain were a hairy guy from the backwoods, grunted, and didn't wear a hockey mask.
