If you're looking for last minute Christmas gifts for the kids in your family that you want to terrify and scar for the rest of their life, then we have a real treat for you. In case you haven't heard, The Babadook is one of the breakout horror films of the year. The debut feature from Jennifer Kent actually resulted in the director getting a meeting to direct Wonder Woman (even though she didn't get the gig), and now you can own one of the chilling parts of the movie: the storybook crafted specifically for the movie. Complete with terrifying illustrations, this is a cool replica that anyone who loves the movie will want immediately. Look!
Here's a clip from The Babadook showing off the creepy book that you can pre-order right here:
The book was crowdfunded through the film's official website, and now it's available for pre-order. It's a bit of a steep price at $80, but it's such a cool little item that it's worth it. Watch the film's trailer right here.
Do you want to die?!” seven-year-old Samuel asks his stressed-out single mother, Amelia. But is it a threat or a warning. After dealing with Samuel’s frantic tantrums his entire life, Amelia suspects that her son has begun directing his violent misbehavior toward her. However, after a dark and foreboding children’s book called Mister Babadook mysteriously appears on Samuel’s bookshelf, Amelia must decide if her son is truly deranged, or if there really is a bogeyman lurking in their darkened halls at night. Essie Davis and Noah Wiseman star in The Babadook, written and directed by Jennifer Kent, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year. IFC Midnight released The Babadook in theaters and VOD last month. Seek it out right now!

I love how the mom's like, "Can we just read Thomas the Tank Engine instead of this terrifying demon book?"

Still haven't seen the movie, but I find it pretty funny that this seems to be the Babadook's calling card noise, since 'Dook Dook Dook' is the classic catchphrase sound of Maakies' Drinky Crow when he drinks booze: https://hydarblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/nomdrinkycrow.jpg

it wasn't a bad movie, but scary noop! The editing was awesome and the caracter developmont was worth watching, though the boy was pretty irritating sometimes... If you want to watch a great movie than watch housebound. Sometimes scary, very funny and great script!
