'Captain Underpants' Gets Voices of Ed Helms, Kevin Hart & Others

Back in 2011, we learned that DreamWorks Animation would bring the popular children's book series Captain Underpants to life on the big screen with Monsters vs. Aliens director Rob Letterman at the helm. Over two years later, we finally have a voice cast assembled for the project. For those who don't know, the film follows a couple of precocious fourth graders named George Beard and Harold Hutchins. Looking to get back at nasty, student-hating principal Mr. Benny Krupp, the boys hypnotize the principal and turn him into Captain Underpants. Kevin Hart and Thomas Middleditch play the kids, but what about our hero?
Ed Helms will be the principal turned undergarment-clad hero, while comedian Nick Kroll will voice the villain, Professor Poopypants. And finally, Jordan Peele (of Comedy Centrals "Key & Peele" will voice a nerdy tattletale named Melvin Sneedly. With all these toilet humor character names and a character whose name is derived from underwear, this will likely be geared even more towards kids rather than trying to please both adults and children alike. The voice cast might make things interesting though (even though the most annoying thing about Kevin Hart is his voice), and maybe Letterman can make this an interesting sort of adventure that isn't just jokes about pooping and underpants. Thoughts?

I will not see this... I loved the series as a child and I would like to keep that love intact, I just feel like a movie adaption would ruin what was so special about these books.
