Carla Gugino to Get Shaken Up with Dwayne Johnson in 'San Andreas'

Carla Gugino

Though we likely won't see Carla Gugino popping up in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (watch the teaser trailer here), that doesn't mean she's not still in the business of blockbusters. Sucker Punch might have been a failure (though this writer thinks it's a sorely underrated film), but Gugino has been keeping busy on TV with M. Night Shyamalan's series "Wayward Pines." Now she's got another big screen role lined up as The Wrap has learned that she is currently in talks for the female lead alongside Dwayne Johnson in the action disaster thriller San Andreas, which unfolds after a major earthquake decimates California. More below!

The story follows a special ops firefighter (Johnson) and his ex-wife (Gugino) as they attempt to leave Los Angeles and head to San Francisco in order to rescue their daughter (Alexandra Daddario). This is supposed to be quite the big, special effects laden action flick with a prime release date on June 5th, 2015, in the heart of blockbuster summer. Our only concern is Brad Peyton directing since his work on the sequels Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore leaves much more than a little to be desired. But we hope this turns out to be a good time.

She deserves better than a disaster flick, but it's always nice to see her.
