London Has Fallen

After being shortlisted for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 last year, and ultimately losing the job to Kon-Tiki duo Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg,  director Fredrik Bond has lined up his next project. THR has learned that Bond is in talks to be at the helm of London Has Fallen, the sequel to one of the two White House thrillers from 2013. Olympus Has Fallen doesn't need a sequel, but that's not stopping Millennium Films from making it, complete with the return of principal cast members Gerard Butler (doing his best John McClane), Aaron Eckhart as the U.S. President and Morgan Freeman as Speaker of the House.

This time, Butler is back in the ranks of the Secret Service, accompanying the president across the pond while he and the Speaker attend the funeral of the British Prime Minister. And as you might guess, some kind of terrorist attack crates absolute chaos in the titular British city. This used to be a Film District title, but now that they've become part of Focus Features, we'll weirdly get to see their distribution logo before this action thriller. Bond has a frenetic style and knows how to handle action having worked in the music video business, but here's hoping he can bring a little more than visual excitement to the proceedings in the script by Christian Gudegast, Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt. Thoughts?

I have to say I actually really enjoyed Olympus a lot. It had dumb moments and it was predictable but still a fun little popcorn action flick. It doesn't need a sequel but none the less I'll still go see it.

This sounds like it might play out a lot like the last season of 24. Fingers crossed.

What a stupid idea. I loved Olympus, it was a lot of fun. But this is so pointless. Whatever, I'll probably enjoy it.

olympus has fallen was a great Action flick and everybody I know enjoyed it to! The studios wouldn't make it if dumbheaded persons like me wouldn't pay to see it! So bring it on with allot of explosions, one liners and a American flag waving at the end of it!
