There's always some kind of amazing piece of artwork coming from Mondo, but this week is something special. On Friday, March 7th, the Mondo Gallery in Austin, Texas will be opening their official Disney exhibition featuring tons of artwork honoring a variety of films from The House of Mouse's rich history. There's pieces honoring the more recent work of Pixar like The Incredibles, the 2D animated classics like Sleeping Beauty, and even the more obscure films like The Cat from Outer Space. A big chunk of pieces have been revealed, but there's more coming later this week leading up to the gallery opening. Look!
The Incredibles by Tom Whalen
Winnie the Pooh by Dave Perillo
WALL-E by Kevin Tong
The Rescuers by David Petersen
Up by Kevin Tong
The Cat from Outer Space by Jay Shaw
Sleeping Beauty by Billy Baumann
The Black Hole by Killian Eng
Fantasia by Jeff Soto
Alice in Wonderland by Ken Taylor
We'll be posting more of the pieces that will be on display at the gallery, but you should hit up the show at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin, especially if you'll be at SXSW this month. In addition to the above pieces (via SlashFilm), more work is coming from frequent Mondo artists like Martin Ansin, Aaron Horkey, JC Richard, Mike Mitchell and Olly Moss. You'll probably be able to buy some of these pieces at some point, but in the meantime, they could make some great backgrounds on your phone, computer, etc. Cool?
