A to Z Film Directors Portraits by Arina Orlova

Time to get a lesson in filmmakers. This may be a few years old, but it's still a worthy collection of art to share, especially with cinephiles and movie lovers. Arina Orlova created a set of A to Z Film Directors portraits, 26 in total, for an artists book in 2009. The set spans American auteur Woody Allen to Italian filmmaker Franco Zeffirelli, plus 24 other notable filmmakers with their faces sketched. The artwork is simple but elegant, and it's just a fun lesson in getting to know your directors, including Cronenberg, Jim Jarmusch, Nagisa Ôshima, Andrei Tarkovsky, Alexei Uchitel, Wong Kar Wai and Zeffirelli. See more below.

Here's a sample of our favorite Directors Portraits, featuring many excellent filmmakers. Click to see all 26:

Thanks to @emmafgreen for the tip on these. For the full gallery of all 26 directors, head to Arina Orlova's website, where you can also see her other work involving James Bond and more. 26 portraits of famous and favorite film directors to form an artist book. Limited edition handmade book with the portraits was printed in 2009. My favorite ones are obviously Nolan & Burton (they each get a Bat symbol?), Tarantino, Kubrick looking awesome, plus Wong Kar Wai. It doesn't seem as if this artwork is for sale or obtainable as prints, even though they are quite impressive and I'm sure someone would buy them. For more info, head to her site, and check out more of Orlova's art - like this Bond Girls series. Your favorite director portrait?
