Playing It Cool

Following the trailer for Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper's reunion in Serena, yet another film that was shot in 2012, but has sat on a shelf for a couple years, has a trailer that has surfaced online. Playing It Cool (formerly called A Many Splintered Thing) marks the return of Captain America franchise star Chris Evans to the romantic comedy genre, and it's even a bit of a meta story as it sees him playing  a screenwriter who gets pushed by his agent to write a romantic comedy to help boost his career. But Evans isn't the kind of guy who believes in that cheesy love bullshit. Cue falling in love with the right girl. Watch!

Here's an international trailer for Justin Reardon's Playing It Cool (via The Playlist):

Playing it Cool (formerly A Many Splintered Thing) is directed by Justin Reardon and written by Paul Vicknair & Chris Shafer (Before We Go). The film follows a screenwriter (Chris Evans) disillusioned by love who meets a young woman (Michelle Monaghan) at a charity dinner by pretending to be a philanthropist. But rather than them falling in love, he learns she has a boyfriend. But rather than giving up, he sees this as a challenge, and with the encouragement of his friends, tries to maintain a faux platonic relationship in order to keep seeing her as he tries to conquer her heart. Aubrey Plaza, Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace, Luke Wilson, Giovanni Ribisi and more also star in the film which currently has no release date in the US.

Looks like a rom com trying not to be a rom com but in doing so is more rom com than ive ever seen. Still am down with anything Chris Evans is in though.

Michelle Monaghan and Aubrey Plaza: totally killer women. Chris Pine and Anthony Mackie: proven bro chemistry. This actually looks good!

Evans would still be stuck playing these kind of films if it weren't for CAP. LOL...still looks ok...

Seen SNOWPIERCER four times here in South Korea. I loved it, but it is still a B-movie. An amazing B-movie.

unfortunately, most of the American movies are also B-movies. In fact, American cinematography has turned into B-movies cinematography during this last few years...
