Comic-Con 2014: Marvel Reveals Hulkbuster Arm & Damaged Ultron
by Ethan Anderton
July 27, 2014
We may be finished with Comic-Con 2014, and while the big Marvel panel was Saturday evening, that didn't stop the comic book studio from giving fans a couple more surprises. Earlier this week, several intriguing items from Marvel's cinematic universe hit the Marvel booth (like Loki's staff and Black Widow's slick new motorcycle), but today, the studio actually showed off a few pieces from The Avengers: Age of Ultron. One was the fist of Tony Stark's Hulkbuster armor used to keep the big guy in check when he gets a little out of control. And another is the early version of Ultron, a drone cyborg created by Stark himself gone rogue. And there's one more that may be a little worrisome for Captain America fans. Look!
Here's the Hulkbuster fist busting through some metal, early Ultron, and Cap's shield:

If you want to learn more about the above pieces, they were prominently featured in footage from the Marvel superhero ensemble sequel, and we recap and discuss that wild footage right here. Check out the rest of the pieces that popped up at the Marvel booth throughout Comic-Con below:

And just for good measure, here's all The Avengers (sadly, without Scarlett Johannsson):
The Avengers: Age of Ultron is written & directed by Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Serenity). Earth's mightiest heroes must once again assemble when a super intelligent robot created by Tony Stark created to help fight any threats that might harm the world actually turns against him and the human race. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson all return in the sequel to Marvel's The Avengers with new names like Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen joining the team. Disney & Marvel release the film on May 1st, 2015. Looking good?

Pretty much everything except the Mad Max trailer from SDCC sucked this year. Nothing was revealed that we didn't, basically, already know...

Anybody else feel like they could've really used the platform to hype the Heck out of GOTG instead, or as well?

Sure. I think it would have been a good idea not to announce a bunch of cool stuff the week before Conic-Con, too. I was reading all kinds of news on CBM...
