Damn Nature, You Scary in Theatrical Trailer for 'Into the Storm'

"I've studied storms all my life. This one is bigger than any storm that has ever been." Following the flaming twister that wreaked havoc in the teaser trailer this past spring, the theatrical trailer for the blockbuster disaster thriller Into the Storm has arrived, showing off even more weather chaos. It looks like Twister on steroids as Sarah Wayne Callies leads a team of researchers, trying to get the word out about a massive storm with tons of tornadoes destroying the town of Silverton. There's some found footage elements, and it looks like it could be a rather entertaining flick, but we're not necessarily excited. Watch it!
Here's the theatrical trailer for Steven Quale's Into the Storm direct from YouTube:
Into the Storm is directed by Steven Quale and written by John Swetnam (Step Up: All In). In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Nathan Kress, Arlen Escarpeta and more star in the film which Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema release on August 8th this summer.

Looks a bit too SyFy Original Movie-ish for me...

I feel like something's not right with the framing of a lot of the shots. I don't know if it's because the camera is too still, or because it's cutting off too much of the actors in the some of the scenes. Is this supposed to be 'found footage' from the perspective of a storm chaser? It kinda just looks like an effects reel.

Looks like a good time when you've got nothing better to do on a Monday night. But I don't know who's going to pay theatre money to see this

Ugh.. I just noticed that's Lori from The Walking Dead. Now instead of hoping to see her get killed by zombies I'll be hoping to see her get killed by tornados.

How is it the twisters look not that much better than the one's from, I don't know, Twister that came out in, I don't know, 1996? And for all of Twister's soap opera drama, de Bont and crew did a great job of making tornados seem like a pursuing monster. And Into the Storm doesn't have Philip Seymour Hoffman. Case closed.

Wow. Such hate and criticism. Not everything can be high caliber cinema. This looks like a fun popcorn movie. I'd watch.

Non-existing storyline, bad acting, full of clichés, but one hell of a CGI fest. Might just watch this.

Not true, found a copy of the script. SPOILER ALERT :::::: So there's a mad scientist who is angry at not winning the pie eating contest at the state fair. He devises a an arm of tasmanian devil robots that spin so fast that they wipe out the entire town. So they now have to find a way to stop it, they devise a really smart she' tasmanian devil robot, which is actually a male rabbit robot in disguise. It then malfunctions the hardwiring in the tasmanian devil robots from the sexy dance the she' devil does and they explode. The END
