"One of the things he asked was… for me to check on ya'll." The first teaser trailer has debuted for Adam Wingard & Simon Barrett's The Guest, their kick ass 80's action film following up You're Next, the horror that twisted the home invasion genre on its head. This time we're introduced to Dan Stevens ("Downton Abbey") as David, a military man who returns to his friend's home in Texas to defend the family. Shit gets crazy from there. As described best by other critics, this film is kind of like Terminator if it had been made by John Carpenter, and that's all that needs to be said (the rest you'll enjoy). I love this movie, it's awesome, I saw it at Sundance and it ended up being one of my favorites. If you enjoy kick ass action, don't miss this.
Here's the first teaser trailer for Adam Wingard & Simon Barrett's The Guest, originally from IGN:
Synopsis from Sundance: A soldier on leave befriends the family of a fallen comrade. He soon becomes a threat to everyone around him when it's revealed he's not who he says he is. Another version floating around before explains it slightly different: "The story follows an ex-Marine who returns a changed man from a tour of duty and becomes a houseguest to a military family whose eldest son recently died." The cast includes Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Leland Orser, Lance Reddick, Chase Williamson and Brendan Meyer. Directed by Adam Wingard, written by Simon Barret (the duo behind A Horrible Way to Die, You're Next, V/H/S 1&2). The Guest first premiered at Sundance, and hits select theaters this fall from Picturehouse US.

The dude looks like a hybrid of Paul Walker and Bradley Cooper. This looks great! Wingard/Barrett FTW!
