Honestly, the first trailer for DreamWorks Animation's adaptation of the old cartoon shorts Mr. Peabody & Sherman didn't seem all that enticing. Obviously, the film is geared towards kids and families, but that doesn't mean all the humor needs to be childish and silly. Unfortunately the film doesn't seem to have the cleverness that made the original cartoon shorts from "Rocky and Bullwinkle" entertaining for kids and adults alike. This second theatrical trailer is a little better, giving the genius dog (voiced by Ty Burrell) credit for creating fist bumping, autotune and Zoomba. But then it's ruined by low brow humor again. We're hoping the film has more in store than this. Also, did you hear Stephen Colbert in there? Watch below!
Here's the second trailer for Rob Minkoff's Mr. Peabody & Sherman from DreamWorks Animation:
Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell) is a business titan, inventor, scientist, gourmand, two-time Olympic medalist, and genius, who also happens to be a dog. Using his most ingenious invention, the WABAC machine, Mr. Peabody and his adopted boy Sherman (Max Charles) head back in time to experience world-changing events first-hand. But when Sherman and his classmate Penny (Ariel Winter) breaks the rules of time travel, our two heroes find themselves in a race to repair history and save the future. Stephen Colbert, Allison Janney, Ellie Kemper and Stephen Tobolowsky also lend their voices to DreamWorks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman, directed by Rob Minkoff (The Lion King), arriving on March 14th, 2014. Excited?
